A large part of today revolved around a family funeral, not someone close to me but a member of the family nonetheless. It was a particularly poignant funeral as the manner and cause of death were so similar to my own father's nearly quarter of a century ago. I'm not going into detail, suffice to say that as so often happens, the funeral gave the chance not only for the very sad last goodbye to a much loved and respected man but also many opportunities to meet anew people not seen for too long. And in doing so, to learn new things about the person we thought we knew.
